Available already this year is Ford’s huge, upscale pickup truck – the 2013 Ford Super Duty also known as the F-250. The 2013 Ford Super Duty comes in three cab models – regular cab, super cab and crew cab. In addition, there are five trims – base XL, midlevel XLT, upscale Lariat, luxury King Ranch and posh Platinum. The higher end trims do not come in regular cabs and are offered only as either super cab or crew cab. Base interior features include just vinyl floor coverings and upholstery, tilt-telescoping steering wheel and a 2-speaker radio. As you go higher with the trim, the interior features get better and more – unique and upgraded leather upholstery, telescoping power mirrors, dual-zone automatic climate control, powered seats with heating and ventilation, a heated steering wheel, an 8-speaker audio system with satellite radio, MyFord Touch, and 20” polished alloy wheels to top it all off.
The engine of the 2013 Ford Super Duty is a 6.2L V-8 that generates 385 horsepower and 405 lbs. of torque. You can also get the optional more powerful 6.7L turbodiesel V-8 which increases output to 400 horsepower and 800 lbs. of torque. The Super Duty comes as either two-wheel driver or four-wheel drive, both on automatic transmission. With proper equipment, the Super Duty can carry up to 4,240 lbs. and tow up to 16,800 lbs.
Safety features of the 2013 Ford Super Duty include side curtain airbags, antilock disc brakes, stability control, trailer sway control and hill start assist. Depending on the trim, other safety features include rear parking sensors, power-adjustable pedals, an integrated trailer brake controller and a rearview camera.
