If you want to own a midsize sedan that has great value, fun to drive and has the highest fuel economy in its category, then the 2013 Ford Fusion is the perfect choice for you. The 2013 Ford Fusionhas been modified and now comes in with a sleeker design with loads of high-tech safety features. Its V6 engines have been replaced with two different 4-cylinder engines. Also added is the Fusion Energi which is a plug-in hybrid.
The midsize sedan’s base engine is a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder that creates 175 horsepower. Other engine options which are much better than its base engine are 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder EcoBoost which makes 178 horsepower and the 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that makes 240 horsepower.
For the Fusion’s regular hybrid lineup, a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder gasoline and an electric motor pumps up its system creating a total output of 188 horsepower. The hybrid plug-in version on the other hand, the Ford Energi uses the same engine and electric motor but has larger lithium-ion battery pack which is chargeable using an AC outlet. In EV mode, the plug-in hybrid can run up to 21 miles. Charging the battery usually requires 7 hours to complete if plugged to a 120-volt outlet or 2.5 hours if attached to a 240-volt outlet.
Ford has raised the bar for its outer styling with an Aston Martin-look. The 2013 Fusions stand up from the crowd with its large trapezoidal grille. The Fusion can seat four adults comfortably or three kids on its rear seats. Its trunk offers 16 cubic feet of space. Hybrid models still have foldable rear seats to add more cargo room. The materials used in clothing the seats of Fusion’s Hybrid lineup are made up of recyclable ones.
